MAGAZINE COVER

We practiced our print work by doing a magazine cover using original photography. I used Ms. Mann's picture after her holiday to Japan. Using the city of Tokyo i created a magazine about city life.

SECRET CLAREMONT

We practiced our photoshop skills, taking pictures around the school finding secretive places and then taking them and editing them mine was from the wall of the main hall i then edited it by adding grain and some light effects to it. The point of this is to create a mysterious feel.

MEDIA USAGE

Hello i'm Jonny, welcome to my foundation portfolio for OCR Media.

Media Usage:

I have a mobile phone which is a Blackberry Curve, I mostly use my phone to talk to my friends via Blackberry Messenger. If I had to upgrade my phone I would keep a Blackberry, as I like how functional they are. With things such as camera and Internet it makes the phone a lot more sociable to use and fun to have.

To keep in touch with my friends I use Xbox Live to talk to my friends while playing games with them it is useful as it costs nothing and easy to use it is also fun to play games as well. I also use Facebook using the chat application on it so I can see who is online and talk to them. If i am out of my room then I would use my Blackberry phone. I am not concerned by my privacy issues on Facebook as only people who are my friends can see my profile so this is not a problem.

if i want to see a film I usually either buy the DVD and watch it or via Sky Player on my Xbox to watch films on demand for

free. If the film is new then I would go to the cinema and make a social event of it going with friends. I don't often watch

films at the cinema only occasionally and prefer DVD's to watch at home.

Music is important in my life i use iTunes to keep my music i keep up to date by downloading music of Youtube using theconverter. If i like the album then i would buy the CD of it. I avoid illegally downloading music online and buying it on iTunes.

As i like video games i play Xbox daily and often use my money to buy the newest games. I also use playing games to be social as i talk to my friends online and can also meet new people playing the game online.

I use the internet a lot throughout the week i often like to go on Facebook to socialize and go on Youtube to look at new videos and find new music. I also check for sports news throughout the week. I usually go on the internet and Xbox when i get home from school. My family use the internet to send emails for work and various other things.

On Tv i tend to watch films and sport i also watch some comedy programs such as Peep Show. I i miss something which i have watched then i record it on my Sky + i can also watch sport in HD.

In Future i think technology would be useful to use it to create a virtual internet where you are able to walk into the internet

and go where you like and any site and experience it so you could see your friends on Facebook.

EDUCATING RITA

Educating Rita is a film from the 1980's starring Michael Caine, it tells the story of a woman who joins a University to study english literature and is from a deprived background of Liverpool. The professor who is played by michael Caine is an alcoholic who cannot be bothered with his job anymore but finds inspiration within Rita to teach.

The opening shot shows Michael Caine going to teach his class but hides his alcohol and does not show any bother. He walks through a very posh University with cobbled roads and people in suits. When Rita appears it shows her in high heels stumbling up late to class as it clearly shows her being a class below.

TWITTER

I have recently created a Twitter account and have followed people to do with the subject and Media related things such as GurdianTech, GuardianMedia and BFI, also i can update my status' on Twitter to Media related things such as a seeing a film at the cinema like 27 hours, or recent goings on at events such as the Oscars.

I hope to use my Twitter to help me in Media related things also to learn from other people in the business and keep up with the news of recent goings on in the world of Media by following such things as "TED" to learn about exiting new technology for modern times and increase my knowledge of the Media world.

Here is my Glog from the website Glogster, using this new technology i have created an appealing looking poster for AS media studies using different fonts and stickers on the poster as this is easy to do on the Glogster website, i experimented with the different layouts.
